Business Insider article Toyota will expand its production of the Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid to Ohio and Michigan in 2019, according to the automaker’s website.
The company plans to invest $8.8 billion in manufacturing and production facilities in the United States over the next five years, with the majority of the investment coming in the form of capital expenditures.
Toyota plans to produce up to 100,000 Camrys and up to 400,000 hybrids in 2019.
The automaker also announced it will invest up to $1 billion in its U.S. manufacturing operations in 2019 to bring the company’s overall U.K. production capacity to 1.2 million vehicles.
The company plans on increasing production capacity in the U.k. by 40% by 2021.
