Actors Anthony Hopkins and Jonah Hill have both been cast in a role in the adaptation of the horror novel The Gore, Variety has learned.
The film, set in the 1970s, is about a young man who takes an axe to his mother, and is then pursued by two serial killers who take the axe and chop off his head.
The film was set to begin production in March.
Hollywood veteran Hopkins will play the character, while Hill will play a man who tries to stop the killers.
Hill, who has appeared in many movies, is currently shooting his third feature, The Longest Yard, which will hit theaters in April.
Hill was born in Brooklyn in 1962, and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit.
He has appeared as a sheriff in films such as Black Dynamite, In the Blood and, most recently, The Shawshank Redemption.
